The offer includes:
1 day Arrival at the airport in the morning. First stop in Bologna to visit the famous historical centre and enjoy a local “must”: the Aperitif in the “Food Market” with Lambrusco, Mortadella and handmade Tortellini. Accommodation in a historical hotel in Bologna or Modena area.
2 day Breakfast. Visit to a special Acetaia and tasting of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar. Visit of the historical centre of Modena, with its UNESCO Heritage, and traditional lunch in “Trattoria” with tigelle and selection of cold cuts. (It’s possible to add in the afternoon: Ferrari Museum in Maranello or Hombre Cheese Dairy and Panini Museum with its beautiful collection of 19 vintage Maserati Cars)
3 day Breakfast. Early morning visit to a “Parmigiano Reggiano” factory, the king of cheese. You will see all the different stages in the production line, from the “Salt Pools” to the “Wheel Cathedral” where 20,000 wheels of cheese age for not less than 24 months. Then it follows a visit to a “Prosciutto di Parma” factory, ham worldwide recognized, and final lunch with rich tasting of Parmigiano and Prosciutto with more local goods. (It’s possible to add the visit of Torrechiara castle, or to the lands of “Giuseppe Verdi” or to the production of Culatello in the town of Zibello)
4 day Breakfast. Driving south of Bologna we’ll stop in Forlimpopoli to visit one of the most important centre of Italian gastronomy “Casa Artusi” Pellegrino Artusi is considered the Father of the Italian Traditional Cuisine and his book “Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well” for the Italians is the Bible of Cooking. The lunch will be served in the restaurant and you will taste original recipes from the book. In the afternoon stop in Forlì area to visit a renown wine cellar followed by a tasting of Sangiovese wine. Accommodation at the country Resort in Forlì or Rimini area
5 day Breakfast. Visit of Ravenna and its beautiful mosaics UNESCO Heritage. Transfer for lunch to Cesenatico, a nice harbor designed by Leonardo da Vinci with a typical seafood menu. In the afternoon visit to the roman historical centre of the old Rimini. Aperitif at the famous street food kiosk of “Piadina Romagnola” with a tasting of different piadina stuffed with local products.
6 day Breakfast. In the early morning transfer to a small town, Sant’Agata Feltria, the land of Truffle for the visit of the medieval village and to meet a local truffle hunter who will teach you about the precious tuber. Rich tasting of truffle by local workshop. Then transfer to Mondaino a tiny village where the “Formaggio di Fossa” (pit cheese) is still produced as in the middle age (with final tasting) and we’ll transfer to visit a DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil producer for a special EVO Oil tasting course.
