The Offer Includes:

1 day  Arrival at the airport in the morning. First stop in Emilia Romagna: Rimini, to admire the fresco of Piero depicting “Sigismondo Pandolfo praying in front of St. Sigismund” (begun in 1447) inside the Tempio Malatestiano, designed by Leon Battista Alberti. Accommodation at charming resort on the hills of Rimini. Welcome dinner with traditional menu.

2 day  Breakfast. Departure for the “invisible landscapes of Piero della Francesca on the hills of the medieval village of San Leo. You’ll have the chance to admire the background of Battista Sforza (“Diptych of the Dukes” preserved in Florence in the Uffizi Gallery) and Saint Jerome and a Donor (in Venice, Galleria dell’ Accademia)It’s a real open-air museum! Lunch in a typical Osteria in the historical centre of San Leo. In the afternoon visit of the Fortress of San Leo, renowned also to have been the prison of Cagliostro Count.

3 day  Breakfast. Transfer to Urbino area and accommodation to charming Country Resort. In the morning visit of Urbino, inside the Palazzo Ducale Gallery, there are 2 of the most important artworks of Piero della Francesca: the “Flagellation” and the “Madonna di Senigallia”. Two masterpieces which offer a perfect mix of lights, shapes, perspectives that remind palaces, lights, and landscapes, still admired walking through Urbino.

4 day  Breakfast. Meeting with the guide just outside the town on the top of a rolling pink and green hill. From Urbania you can admire the third Balcony of Piero: The Triumphs (from the “Diptych of the Dukes”, preserve if Florence in the Uffizi) and detailed explanation of the invisible landscape. Lunch in an organic agritourism located beside the balcony, tasting local recipes and from farm to fork products, prepared by Isabella and her family. After lunch free time to relax in the park of agritourism, chance to visit the Museum of the Farming, that shows all the steps in the wheat processing, and that hosts ancient machines and instruments that were used in the past.

5 day  Breakfast. Departure for Sansepolcro, birthplace of Piero. Accommodation at the Agriturism in Sansepolcro/Monterchi/Anghiari area. Inside the civic museum of Sansepolcro, you can admire 4 masterpieces of the master “The risen”, “The mercy” the frescos “San Giuliano” and “San Ludovico”. You will also find the House of Piero della Francesca, home of the foundation with the same name: center of studies, library and home of temporary exhibits. Aperitif with local products in a typical winery.

6 day  Breakfast. Departure for Monterchi, a remote village where Piero della Francesca has left one of the most famous artworks of the XV century “Madonna of parturition (Museum of the Madonna del Parto). In the afternoon visit of Arezzo, elegant medieval and Renaissance town with a great charm and an incredible artistic value. Guided visit to the Works of Piero: the fresco of “The legend of the true cross” (Bacci Chapel, Basilica of Saint Francis), “The Magdalene” (Cathedral).

7 day  Breakfast and departure for Perugia Inside the National Gallery of Umbria we can find a great witness of Piero’s travels: the Polyptych of S. Anthony, a wonderful work of art with 9 panels depicting the Virgin with the Child, the saints Anthony of Padua, John the Baptist, Francis and Elizabeth of Hungary. In the cusp there is the Annunciation settled in a perfect perspective. Transfer to the Airport in the afternoon.
